Supporting someone through breast cancer can be incredibly challenging, especially when it’s your partner, mother, child, sister, aunt, grandmother, or close friend facing the journey.
It’s important to recognise that caregivers need support too.
Our online Whānau Support Group is a safe, peer-led space for those providing care and support to immediate and extended family/whānau members, and close friends, experiencing breast cancer.
The Group is led by Rebecca Pohe (pictured), a qualified mediator with extensive experience working alongside family/whānau and community groups. Rebecca has lived experience as a caregiver of someone with breast cancer.
Supporters and caregivers can gather over a cuppa, to share, and receive support and acknowledgment in a welcoming, no-judgment environment.
Preregister
The group meets on the first Monday of the month on Zoom, from 6pm to 7pm. We ask that you please pre-register for the group by clicking on the link above and at right. Once registered, you'll receive a confirmation email with the details for joining the meeting. These emails can sometimes go to Junk or Spam folders, so please check if you don't receive a confirmation from Zoom. If you don't receive any confirmation at all, please email us.
If you'd like to attend and cannot pre-register, please email us and we'll register you.
